In all of the hustle and bustle of Disneyland, sometimes you need to find that quiet location to have a relaxing moment, this is one of those locations.  As you are heading towards The Sleeping Beauty castle, head right of the moat to find this grotto.  Here as you walk across the bridge, you will feel as if you are entering another world.  This peaceful and serene location will remind you of the beauty that can be found inside Disneyland.

As with all things Disney, there is always a story behind how things are created inside and around the Disney Theme Parks and this location is no different.  Disney legend John Hench was the one who designed this tranquil location.  He was also the one who solved the dilemma that arose when Walt Disney received these statues as a gift from an Italian Sculptor.  The statues represent the characters from Snow White, but mistakenly all of the statues are about 3 feet tall.  Since Snow White should be taller than the dwarfs, John Hench disguised this inaccuracy by placing Snow White at the back in an elevated position.  Between the distance and elevation, Snow White appears to be the correct height, taller than the 7 dwarfs.  The imagination and attention to detail is what makes Disney Theme Parks unique and different.

I’ve enjoyed this location on many trips to Disneyland and must admit that not once did I ever notice the size difference.  I guess I just appreciated this restful and soothing location as a way to re-energize before heading to the next fun filled activity.  I delight in finding new historical facts about Disneyland and hope that this will help you on your next Disneyland trip to enjoy something that you’ve never experienced before.  Take a moment to relax by the wishing well and listen to the song “Some Day My Prince Will Come”, as sung by the movie’s vocalist, Ariana Caselotti.  You might feel as if you have been transported right into this enchanted moment from the movie.  This is such a magical location one can only imagine how many proposals have occurred here.

Let me know how I can help you plan your next magical trip to Disneyland.  This quiet place is just one of the many things I can help you find and adore as you plan your next Disney adventure.
