I’m excited to announce that Pandora – The World of AVATAR is opening in Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017.

AVATAR is the larger-than-life science fiction movie directed by James Cameron which was released in 2009.   On September 20, 2011, Walt Disney Parks released that they were joining forces with James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the world of AVATAR to Disney parks.  With this announcement came the plans to build the first AVATAR themed land at Walt Disney World inside the Animal Kingdom Park.  In January of 2014 construction began just days after Camp Mickey and Minnie was closed.

Inside this striking world of Pandora, you will find yourself floating on mountains and surrounded by bioluminescent plants where you can connect with the Na’vi on two different attractions that will take you on an exhilarating adventure.

The Na’vi River Journey is a family friendly ride that sends you through a bioluminescent rainforest and ends with an encounter with a Na’vi Shaman.  Next, Avatar Flight of Passage will be an exhilarating experience of discovering the world of Pandora on top a Banshee.

After traveling through this world of Pandora you can relax at Satu’li Canteen where you can grab a drink of Pongu Pongu and then shop for Na’vi traditional items at Windtraders.

Hopefully this anticipated opening will bring excitement and happiness to those who have long awaited the opening of Pandora.
