There have been rumors that IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth might be changing for a while now.  Disney Parks Blog has released that IllumiNations is slated to run through the end of summer 2019 and then will be part of the overall Epcot transformation.

This show has been dazzling people since October 1999 when it debuted as part of the Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration.  The Disney Parks Live Entertainment team is already creating new ways to re-imagine the nighttime fireworks show at Epcot and I’m sure it is going to be sensational.

Previously announced changes coming to Epcot include a “Guardians of the Galaxy” roller coaster attraction, “Ratatouille” a new ride located at the France Pavilion in World Showcase, a table-service restaurant located near Mission: SPACE, and now the newly announced nighttime fireworks show over Showcase Lagoon.  The combination of these changes will be something you won’t want to miss.  I’m so thrilled that I get to be here and watch as Epcot transforms into something new and exciting.

There is still plenty of time to come and visit Epcot and be a part of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth before it disappears.  I’m so relieved that this isn’t going to be one of those changes that happens almost immediately so that visitors can’t plan to come and see it one last time before it is gone.  I know it is very frustrating to those who want to see things one more time, but can’t get a vacation planned in a short amount of time.  For those of you who won’t be able to make it, I will be taking lots of pictures and videos this next year and posting them so that you can  be part of the magic of the IllumiNations fireworks show.
