Epcot International Food & Wine Festival & Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge Opened Today

Post by MickeyMouse71   /

With all the excitement over Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge opening I didn’t want anyone to miss that today was also the opening of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. So much to share and here’s how our day went with a bunch of pictures and more to come.

Boy it has been one busy day. We started by heading to Hollywood Studios for opening day of Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge. It actually wasn’t as busy as we had anticipated which was nice. We got stuck in traffic so was a little worried about even getting into Galaxy’s Edge but I think Disney may have found a system that worked. When you entered the park you could use their app and secure a “place in line” to enter Galaxy’s Edge based on a return time. Thankfully ours wasn’t too late and we got in around 11:00am. Black Spire Outpost was much busier than when we went for the Passholder event, but still not quite as crowded as we thought it would be. Smugglers Run was up to 270 minutes at one point, but around noon it dropped to 180 minutes. I even talked to a few people that said the single rider line was less than 1 hour. We spent time wandering around to see everything and it was amazing. So excited that we got to see the new Star Wars land on opening day.

Our day wasn’t over after that and we decided to head to Animal Kingdom to get our Passholder Simba magnets. Animal Kingdom as you can imagine had low crowds and if we would have had time we would have been able to ride so many things. (I guess everyone was at Hollywood Studios).

Well we didn’t stop there because don’t forget it isn’t all about Star Wars, today was the opening of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Couldn’t miss this opening either so we headed there to get some of our favorite food and drink choices and to see what we are going to try in the future. Happily some of our favorites have returned and we also found some new ones that we can’t wait to taste. We also had to stop and get our Passholder magnet here too.

Joffrey’s – Citrus Sunrise

Brazil – Cheese Bread

Joffrey’s – Whisky Adventure – (Last year was called “Fire & Ice”

Pizza Taglio – The take out window in Italy – So happy this was back open!!

Some much to eat and drink and so little time. You will have more time than usual this year to eat and drink your way around World Showcase since this event will be going until November 23rd. All of the food items above I will give a review on in upcoming weeks. Keep watching for “Winey Wednesday” blogs to see what some of these new items were and to see what new things we have tried. If you have a favorite item you think I should try, let me know.
