Bucket List – Part 2

Post by MickeyMouse71   /

I’m excited to share that I was able to check off a few things on my bucket list while on my last trip to DisneyWorld.  We were excited to hopefully see the Opening Ceremonies at Magic Kingdom, a rope drop and the “kiss goodnight”.  We were able to see the Opening Ceremonies on 2 different occasions and watched the rope drop as it made its way down Main Street U.S.A.  It was fun to watch the Opening Ceremonies where the characters sang and danced from the Train Station Depot.  They shot off fireworks and then declared the park officially open for the day.  It was amazing to me that on all of our different trips to the Disney parks, that we had not seen this specific event.  This happens daily 20 minutes prior to the park opening if you are interested in seeing this.  I recommend doing this at least once.  It really brings the “opening” of the park to life.

We were also able to “open” the park that day, as well as “close” the park.  Not something we had anticipated doing, but because of a special event we were attending (I’ll write about that later), we were able to be 2 of about 50 people walking out of the park that night.  I took pictures of Main Street U.S.A. with no one on it, just lit up with the white lights.  I was also able to get a picture of the Walt and Mickey Statue with the castle in the background with no other people around.  It was eerily quite and had a wonderful peaceful feeling.

It was fun to check off a few of my bucket list items to do while visiting a Disney park.  I’m excited that on a return trip I will again be able to do a few more things on the list.  It’s all about moderation and not trying to get them all done in one visit.

In future blogs I will be sharing about some of the fun events that we were able to attend:  Lunch with a Disney Imagineer, The Not So Scary Halloween Party, The VIP Villians Soiree and the Keys to the Kingdom Tour.  There is so much to do while visiting DisneyWorld other than just the theme parks.  Have a magical week.
