It has been a little while since my last post, but boy I was exhausted from traveling with the music group.  They had a wonderful time and it was fantastic to share their adventures.  One of the many adventures my husband and I were able to take while we were there, was to a restaurant we had not had the pleasure of eating at before.  I usually have to choose wisely because of food allergies, which is why I’m writing about this restaurant today.  For those who have food allergies you understand the difficulty of finding a place where you can eat safely and enjoy the food.  Well Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria exceeded my expectations and I recommend eating there if you get he chance while you are in EPCOT.

My allergy is to onions and garlic, which as you can imagine are pretty difficult to avoid at an Italian restaurant, but we decided to give Via Napoli a try anyway.  We had a reservation and the wait time was minimal.  I only mention this because often we have had reservations at other EPCOT restaurants and the wait time has still been 15-30 minutes.  Our waiter was wonderful and had a most welcoming personality.  He asked many questions to see what we were interested in, and when I expressed that I had an allergy he made sure that a manager came to our table.  The manager talked with me extensively to see what food I was interested in and then let me know which sauces had garlic and onions.  (I have to be honest the only reason we were there was to try the pizza.)  I had read many outstanding reviews about Via Napoli and figured all those people couldn’t be wrong.  I was hopeful that they had a very plain sauce, and I was in luck.  The pizza sauce was tomatoes and water, which is when I realized I had found a new place where I could eat pizza.  During our time of waiting for our pizza, a second manager came to our table to make me aware that the pepperoni did contain onion and garlic.  Again, I couldn’t be more pleased with a restaurant where 2 managers come to my table to ensure that I can eat something and not get sick later.

Since I don’t often find places where I can eat pizza, we decided to order the large pizza.  Spoiler alert…when they say large, they mean large.  It covered our entire table.  I wasn’t upset by any means because that just meant we had leftovers to eat when we got back to our hotel room.  The pizza was beyond what I can express or put into words.  The crust was not too thin, but had a light crunch to it and the combination of toppings and cheese was amazing.  As pizza goes, this was by far one of the best tasting pizzas we have ever eaten.  We probably ate more than we should have, but it was too good to stop after a piece or two.  We still ended up taking 1/2 the pizza with us and it was just as good later on in the evening.

After we were done eating, the second manager who had come to our table, Adolfo, returned to follow up and see how our pizza turned out.  He was polite and caring, just not something we see in many restaurants that we visit.  I can’t thank him enough for the personal attention that he gave to us in making sure that we received the correct pizza and that it was to our liking.  Adolfo, we will return and we hope that you will be there when we visit.  Thank You!

So my food recommendation for today is that you make a reservation for Via Napoli and enjoy visiting the Italy pavilion in EPCOT.  You will not be disappointed.
