In celebration of Toy Story 4 opening day, I just had to try this Forky Petit found at Amorette’s. I’m so excited for this movie and can’t wait to share what I thought, but for now I’m going to share how amazing this dessert was.

Oh where should I begin except to say that the cake inside of this little “Forky” is wonderfully delicious. Inside is a chocolate chiffon cake and brownie that is layered with a chocolate chip diplomat cream. Under the black rolled fondant is this light and fluffy “frosting”. I took the rolled fondant off (not fond of the black color left behind on my hands and mouth) and tried just the diplomat cream and it was rich without being sweet. It sounds really funny but that is the best way I can describe it. I think it is the chocolate chips in the cream that gives it a little sweetness. Think of a heavy cream before adding any sugar, that is how this tasted. The cake was smooth in texture and had a sweet chocolate taste without it being an overpowering flavor. I really enjoyed how the chocolate blended with the diplomat cream. I was expecting something exctremely sweet and was pleasantly surprised by this dessert. I definitely recommend trying this before it disappears.
