The new Star Wars Launch Bay located in Animation Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is amazing. This is one of the newest Star Wars attractions that has come to Hollywood Studios. In here you are able to view movie props, play games, watch videos and greet Star Wars characters. When we visited we were able to meet Chewbacca. I couldn’t believe how exciting it was to meet a character from a movie you first saw when you were 6 years old. There are also opportunities to meet Kylo Ren, Darth Vadar and Darth Maul at this character meet and greet. The extent of the props that you can view are remarkable and displayed in detail so that you can learn which movie or movies they were used in.
Along with the new Star Wars Launch Bay, there are new and exciting Star Wars events that will begin this Spring. Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away is a new live, stage show featuring Star Wars characters such as Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vadar and Darth Maul. This new show will take place multiple times throughout the day in front of The Great Movie Ride. Also beginning on April 4th, will be the Stormtroopers March. Throughout different times of the day, Captain Phasma will lead a squad of First Order Stormtroopers from Star Wars Launch Bay to center stage to show the power that the First Order is desperately trying to maintain. This will be an exciting and intimidating show of force and something not to be missed.
In February we were able to view the incredible “Symphony in the Stars” fireworks display which was set to John Williams music from the Star Wars movies. Since I can’t begin to describe in words this fireworks display, I will show a few pictures that I took.
I can’t imagine how they are going to make this show even better but starting this summer, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will begin showing nightly. This new fireworks show will display things not yet seen in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The sky will light up with Star Wars themed fireworks, lasers, light projections and other special effects. All of this will be in combination with Star Wars themed music and iconic characters and scenes throughout the Star Wars saga. Imagine what it will be like to view the twin suns of Tatooine, navigate through an asteroid field, or feel as if you are in the field of battle droids. This is what you will experience with this new state-of-the-art special effects that will project onto the Chinese Theater and surrounding buildings.
As you can imagine if you are a Star Wars fanatic, then these new additions to Disney’s Hollywood Studios you will not want to miss. Also, new Star Wars lands will be opening in the future at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland, and more Star Wars at Seas days are planned for 2017. Like with all things Disney, there is something new and exciting to look forward too. Let me know how I can help you plan a galactic adventure.
