On May 11, 2018 Maleficent caught fire during the Festival of Fantasy Parade. It was something that caught everyone by surprise and thankfully no one was hurt. However, Maleficent’s fire breathing head didn’t fare as well. After more than 8 months she has finally returned to the parade and she is back breathing fire better than ever.

Disney announced that she is back and in perfect dragon form and has enhanced safety features. They didn’t explain in detail what those features were but we can guess that they are pretty extensive. I’m sure Disney doesn’t want any more of that kind of “fire breathing” dragon in their parade.

Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade started on March 9, 2014 and it replaced the “Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade”. It runs daily at 3:00pm beginning in Frontierland, winding through Liberty Square and then heading down Main Street U.S.A. This is a magical parade that you won’t want to miss when visiting the Magic Kingdom.
