Fun Fact Friday – Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Post by MickeyMouse71   /

The Mickey Jack-o-Lanterns are lighting the way to a fun filled evening at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.  Before I head off to enjoy this special event I thought I would share some fun facts with you about this event.  (Thank you to Walt Disney World News for these facts)

– Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party first made its debut in 1994 in the Magic Kingdom.  This is the 24th year and this year there are 34 nights in which you can enjoy this event.

– There are 176 pumpkins that you can see lined up on the balconies and windowsills of Main Street, U.S.A.

– Ever wonder how many people it takes to make the Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade come to life?  We there are 175 performs that will travel 23 miles of parade route during this season.

– You can’t have a Halloween party without candy.  (Well you could but that would be boring and Disney doesn’t cut corners on their candy, they have 40 different kinds of brand-name candy).  There are 14 trick-or-treat locations throughout the park and more than 250 tons of candy will be handed out this season.

– There are many special lighting effects that help transform Magic Kingdom into a not so scary experience.  With all the additional lighting it takes extra power and cables to make it all happen.  There is more than 23,000 feet of cable which is more than 4 miles.  Can you believe that is more cable than the distance walking around the park?

Something new this year is happening at Pirates of the Caribbean.  Guests will be able to interact with live pirates and are encouraged to keep on eye on the treasure being sought by Captain Jack Sparrow.  This should be fun and can’t wait to encouter real pirates.  Argh

Keep an “eye” out for more pictures and details about the party tonight.  I can’t wait to share all the fun things I will see, especially the Headless Horseman, hopefully he will ride tonight.  Don’t forget you can catch Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party  on select nights through October 31st.
