Fun Fact Friday – Cinderella’s Wishing Well – Magic Kingdom

When your feet are tired and you’re looking for a little peace and quiet, I recommend looking for the Cinderella wishing well. It can be a little tricky to find which is what makes it such an amazing place to discover. As you’re walking up Main Street towards the castle, go all the way to the hub and then veer right towards Merida’s meet-n-greet. (Dont’ go all the way to Tomorrowland) Then take the path to the left of Merida which will take you to Cinderella’s wishing well and then on to Fantasyland. This is a beatiful location for pictures and a quiet place where you can sit back and enjoy the view. Don’t forget to make a wish, it might come true.

Disney Imagineers place a story throughout their creations, and this wishing well is no different. If you look closely you can see the birds and mice as they are trying to collect all the pieces they need to make Cinderella’s dress. These images show they are trying to do this all while hiding from the evil cat, Lucifer. I love the expressions on their faces and how it captures that moment of trying to be sneaky and still getting the job done. You can just picture these moments for the movie and how in this one carving so much of the movie comes to life.

This wishing well was created and designed by Disney Legend Blaine Gibson and the money that is cast into the wishing well is collected on a regular basis and donated to children’s charities. Have you tossed in a coin or two and made a wish?
